Exclusive Interview – Taka Aono

I was thinking about different types of content to add to my website, and came up with a great (if not original) idea: start doing interviews periodically!
I plan on posting about 1 every month or two, as well as feature articles & reviews every once in a while.

For my first interview, I wanted to talk to a professional drifter who is high in the ranks; Taka Aono came to mind as a well-established Formula D driver who seems a likely candidate for a good interview. I shot him a few questions via myspace, and here’s how he answered.

AJC: When did you start drifting?

TA: A looong time ago.

AJC: How did you get up to the professional level?

TA: I spent my own money for a while.

AJC: What is the most difficult thing about drifting professionally?

TA: Getting sponsorship.

AJC: What is it like to drive in Formula D?

TA: FUN! Running with best drifters!!

AJC: Who are your favorite tandem partners?

TA: Hiro Sumida

AJC: If you could offer one piece of advice to aspiring drifters, what would it be?

TA: Don't give up!!
